Leaders, when there is conflict in your organization, please do not allow only one employee to tell the story!
Get a trained coach, etc. to assist if you are not able to resolve the situation, and be sure to treat everyone with empathy and kindness. When all is said and done, make sure the process for making decisions is fair to everyone involved.
One question you can ask each person involved is, “If you were looking at this issue from _________ point of view, what would he/she/they say about it?” (iPEC). This helps each person in the conflict think about it from another person’s perspective.
Ultimately, everyone should feel valued and supported.
